Election 2010

Thanks to everyone who took action in the general election 2010 to help make deaf children matter.

NDCS pledge for deaf children

Election 2010 vote for me

Nearly 1,000 candidates signed the NDCS election pledge for deaf children, of which 223 have been elected to Parliament. This is a third of all MPs and a fantastic achievement.

The pledge called on candidates, if elected, to take action to:

  1. Close the gap in educational attainment between deaf children and other children
  2. Improve public services so deaf children and their families get the support they need from the start
  3. Help deaf children in their constituency get the same opportunities as other children.

Nearly 900 supporters wrote to their local candidates to ask them to sign the NDCS election pledge for deaf children, sending out 2800 emails between them. NDCS would like to thank all those who took part in this campaign and worked to make deaf children matter in the general election.
