Please help us to protect specialist support services for deaf children in Southampton

Over the summer Southampton council confirmed they had cut a vital Teacher of the Deaf post. This left the equivalent of one full time teacher to support around 165 deaf children.

South Hampshire Deaf Children's Society campaigned to change this, with the support of NDCS. Due to their hard work and determination the council have now agreed to make extra specialist teaching hours available to Southampton’s deaf children.
Parents are now monitoring the situation but hope to see a significant improvement in their child’s support.
