NDCS Cymru announces new family sign and parenting project

NDCS Cymru is delighted to announce that we have been successful in our bid for funding to take forward our exciting ‘It Starts Here’ project next year.

The ‘It Starts Here’ project will be supported by The National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund. It will provide a 3-year programme of events for families of deaf children including:

• information weekends for families
• family sign language courses
• parenting support groups

Jayne Dulson, Director of NDCS Cymru, said: “We are thrilled to have the funding to take this very exciting project forward next year.

“The information weekends and parenting support groups should help to provide valuable support to parents of deaf children, and the sign language classes will help many families who currently struggle to access courses.”

Work on setting up this project has now started, so watch this space for more information soon!
