The Department for Children, Schools and Families announced £10m funding for training of SENCOs.

Michael Gove MP (Conservative Shadow Children, Schools and Families Secretary) asked the Government about literacy of deaf children.
At the same time, Simon Hughes MP also asked what steps the Government was taking to addressing the gap in attainment.
Special Educational Needs
21 July 2008
The Special Educational Needs (Information) Bill received Royal Assent and is now set to become law.
The Bill requires the Government to collect and publish more information about children with special educational needs.
NDCS strongly supported this Bill and briefed MPs and Lords on its importance for deaf children.
Examinations

David Laws MP (Liberal Democrat Shadow Children, Schools and Families Secretary) asked what guidance was available on examinations involving deaf children.
