Head of Finance (maternity cover)

The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) is the national charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people.

Are you looking for a fixed term (maternity cover) senior role offering a varied mix of project work and leadership of a finance team of six who support NDCS's activities in the UK and overseas?

Do you want to work for a charity which encourages innovative developments within a clear planning framework? Have you the ability to be strategic and hands on when required?

NDCS is looking for a CCAB qualified accountant with relevant experience, not necessarily in the charity sector, to ensure the smooth running of NDCS's financial operations. You will have a flexible, proactive approach and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and motivate your team to provide support to budget holders. You will have excellent technical accounting knowledge and the motivation and enthusiasm to drive new initiatives forward. 

You will be able to work under pressure using your ability to plan and prioritise to focus on key deliverables. You will have advanced Excel skills and experience of preparing financial accounts.  You will also be experienced in the production and presentation of financial information including management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash flows.
