Job description

The National Deaf Children’s Society is the leading charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people.

Do you want to play a pivotal role in raising the funds we need to provide our life-changing services for deaf children and their families?

In 2017/18 the National Deaf Children’s Society aims to raise £24.5 million to fund our range of services and campaigning work. Around 90% of this will be generated through the activities of the Supporter Marketing team. We have ambitious plans to continue the growth that has seen us double fundraising income since 2005, allowing us to extend the reach of our services for deaf children and young people.

The Senior Direct Marketing Executive (Retention) is a key role in delivering these plans. You will manage appeal, upgrade and newsletter campaigns for our 160,000 National Deaf Children’s Society and Deaf Child Worldwide regular supporters and 35,000 cash and raffle donors. You will work principally with direct mail and telephone fundraising, though you will also use email and other online media to supplement this work.

You will be responsible for delivering campaigns from concept through to delivery, applying learning points from analysis and insights generated in the team and from the results of previous campaign testing. You will also play an important role in our continual improvement of our welcome process and supporter journey.

You will be an experienced direct marketer with a record of achieving income targets and managing a number of significant campaigns simultaneously. You will be well-organised, enthusiastic, and an effective communicator who is able to get the most out of relationships with internal stakeholders like our brand and data teams, as well as external partners such as agencies and freelancers. You will be able to get up to speed quickly, and be comfortable managing campaigns without detailed supervision

This post is a 12 months maternity cover position.
