Can you help shape the future for deaf children and young people as an NDCS trustee?

Deadline

20 January 2012

Job description

Have you got the passion, commitment and clear sense of direction to help us create a world without barriers for every deaf child?

We are looking for NDCS full members* to join our Trustee Board. Our trustees have a wide range of experience, but the essentials are the ability to see the big picture for NDCS, have sound and balanced judgement, think strategically, challenge constructively, and then make collective decisions as part of a team.

In this recruitment we would particularly welcome interest from people who, in addition to the abilities above, have senior level operational experience of managing large projects and programmes; of planning and delivering services for children and young people; or have strategic experience of international development and/or international charity governance.

We value a diverse Trustee Board and are keen that people from all sections of the community apply, including people who are deaf or hearing impaired.

If you are a full member of NDCS and you have the skills and experience that we are looking for, we would like to hear from you. All our trustees receive induction, training and support for personal development. Trustees are volunteers and unpaid, but we reimburse reasonable expenses.

For an informal discussion please contact Sheila McClure, Head of Trustee Support, on 020 7014 1168, or email: sheila.mcclure@ndcs.org.uk. Or visit www.ndcs.org.uk/trustee-recruitment for an application pack and form.

The closing date is Friday 20 January 2012.

Registered charity: England and Wales (1016532) and Scotland (SC040779).

*NDCS full members must be the parent or carer of a deaf child or young person up to the age of 25, or a deaf person age 18 to 25 years, living in the United Kingdom.
