Brendan Cleere
Trustee
Brendan has three children who are triplets, Eddie, Alex and Charlotte. Eddie is profoundly deaf and wears a cochlear implant. Brendan works as a local government strategic director in South West England, and has wide ranging experience of leading services which have a direct impact on young people, such as leisure and environmental education.
NDCS has been a hugely valuable source of support and advice for our whole family since Eddie was first diagnosed deaf as a baby in 1999. It is a great privilege to be able to be an NDCS trustee – I will do all I can in this role to help deaf children everywhere achieve their full potential in life.
He represents district councils on the Somerset Children’s Trust, and has a background in community development and engagement which has often involved working with children and young people.
