Claire McClafferty

Trustee

Claire McClafferty joined the Trustee Board of NDCS in November 2007. She is the parent of four school age children, one of whom has severe hearing loss and one of whom has moderate hearing loss. Claire is a long standing member of the West of Scotland Deaf Children’s Society (WSDCS). 

Claire is a senior practitioner with the fostering team of The Jane Moore Trust Family Placement Service. Her earlier background in social work includes extensive involvement with children and families in the west of Scotland. 

Since 1994, Claire has been an independent assessor for the BBC Children in Need Fund, assessing applications from charities and organisations to the Fund in Scotland.

Since 2003, she has served as an independent assessor for Football Aid/Field of Dreams, a charity which organises charity football matches to raise funds for diabetes research.

Claire’s other voluntary experience includes serving as a volunteer helper with the Rainbow Guides and as a member of a Parent Teacher Association.
