Director of International Development

Sofia joined NDCS in May 2007 and runs Deaf Child Worldwide, the international development agency of NDCS.

Sofia is originally from Peru where she attained Bachelor Degrees in Arts and Sociology.

Later on, she studied at London School of Economics (LSE) where she attained a MSc in NGO Management.

Sofia has extensive international development experience in Central and Southern America, the Caribbean, Eastern and Southern Africa.

“I hope to put my experience in international development work to make the rights of deaf children become a permanent reality,” says Sofia.

“Together with parents, local communities and practitioners we hope to achieve this. We have a lot of work to do but I am sure that our determination and commitment with deaf children will help us to achieve our dream.”
