Matthew Hilton
Trustee
Matthew Hilton has been a Trustee of NDCS since 2006 and is Chairman of the NDCS’s Governance Committee. As well as his involvement with NDCS, he is also Chairman of his local MENCAP Group.
We have hugely appreciated the support and service that Natasha and the rest of the family get from NDCS. Since becoming a Trustee, I’ve been privileged to see that effort from the NDCS perspective as well. I hope that I contribute to NDCS by bringing my professional and personal experience to the work of the Board. I hope, too, that my perspective as a parent of a deaf child with additional special needs brings a helpful extra dimension.
Matthew is father to 11-year-old Natasha and her two younger brothers. Natasha has a bilateral moderate to severe hearing loss and additional needs that mean she has a global developmental delay.
Natasha is starting her secondary school career at a special school, following from her experience so far in the hearing support facility of a local mainstream primary school.
Matthew is the Director of Employment Relations at the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. He has previously been the Director of Strategy and Communications there, and Principal Private Secretary to two Secretaries of State.
