Andy Ford
Andy Ford has been on the NDCS Board of Trustees since the end of 2002, and was Deputy Treasurer between December 2004 and November 2006, when he took on the role of Chair of Trustees.
NDCS is an amazing organisation that works tremendously hard to improve the lives of deaf children and their families. I hope that, in some small way, I can help that work to continue and grow through bringing the same passion I have always felt in fighting the cause for my daughter to my role as a trustee - Andy Ford
-
Tracy Barrett
Tracy is Managing Director at FD Santé, a specialist healthcare communications and public affairs company, and brings to the NDCS Board 19 years experience in public relations.
-
Lisa Capper
Lisa has two children, Rachael and Harrison. Harrison has a right side Microtia, is moderately deaf and wears a bone anchored hearing aid. Lisa works as an Assistant Director in adult skills for central government and has a background in the voluntary sector and parent partnership work.
Although Harrison is only two, my family and I have benefited enormously from the information, advice and practical support that NDCS offers. I am thrilled to be able to use my skills and experience to help lead the work of NDCS. I am passionate about promoting equality for all children who have any degree of hearing loss so that they can reach their full potential. - Lisa Capper
-
Madeleine Collie
Madeleine Collie was Chair of the Board of Trustees of Friends for Young Deaf People (FYD) before joining the NDCS Board, following the merger of the two organisations in 2002.
I am keen to be a part of the continued growth of NDCS as it builds on the successes of FYD, providing support and friendship to deaf children as they grow into adulthood - Madeleine Collie

Gerard Featherstone
Gerard’s son John had a progressive hearing loss since birth and received a cochlear implant when he was two years old. John attends a mainstream school with a deaf base. Gerard lives in the North West of England and works for his local further education college. He has his own marketing and publishing company.
I really want to help to raise expectations of our deaf children and empower parents to make informed decisions about their children’s future. I am delighted to be able share my personal and professional experience to contribute to the mission of NDCS. - Gerard Featherstone
-
Matthew Hilton
Matthew Hilton has been a Trustee of NDCS since 2006 and is Chairman of the NDCS’s Governance Committee. As well as his involvement with NDCS, he is also Chairman of his local MENCAP Group.
We have hugely appreciated the support and service that Natasha and the rest of the family get from NDCS. Since becoming a Trustee, I’ve been privileged to see that effort from the NDCS perspective as well. I hope that I contribute to NDCS by bringing my professional and personal experience to the work of the Board. I hope, too, that my perspective as a parent of a deaf child with additional special needs brings a helpful extra dimension. - Matthew Hilton
-
Gavin Hogg
Gavin Hogg is the father of two profoundly deaf children aged 12 and 14 years.
I feel for deaf children and their parents, as deafness is the hidden disability, and that there is still a huge misunderstanding within the local community about the problems associated with deafness - which I feel is unacceptable - Gavin Hogg
-
Claire McClafferty
Claire McClafferty joined the Trustee Board of NDCS in November 2007. She is the parent of four school age children, one of whom has severe hearing loss and one of whom has moderate hearing loss. Claire is a long standing member of the West of Scotland Deaf Children’s Society (WSDCS).

Melanie Sullivan
Melanie Sullivan joined the Board in January 2008. She qualified as an accountant in 1989 and has been working in the charity sector since 2000.
I am delighted to be using my financial skills to contribute to the vision, mission and values of NDCS. I look forward to learning from the many families and young people that NDCS supports and from staff and volunteers - Melanie Sullivan
-
Brian Trotman
Brian Trotman is a chartered accountant and has held senior financial and commercial roles in the service industry. He is the Honorary Treasurer of NDCS.
I am a co-opted Trustee of NDCS, which means that I do not have a deaf child, although I am a parent. From both my personal and professional perspective I am immensely impressed by the work that NDCS does and how it goes about doing it. My aim is to use my financial and commercial experience to help the charity to continue to support and empower deaf young people and their families. - Brian Trotman
