Andy Ford
Andy Ford joined the Trustee Board in 2002 and has been Chair since 2006.
NDCS is an amazing organisation that works tremendously hard to improve the lives of deaf children and their families. I hope that, in some small way, I can help that work to continue and grow through bringing the same passion I have always felt in fighting the cause for my daughter to my role as a trustee - Andy Ford

Lisa Capper
Lisa has two children, Rachael and Harrison. Harrison has a right side Microtia, is moderately deaf and wears a bone anchored hearing aid. Lisa works as an Assistant Director in adult skills for central government and has a background in the voluntary sector and parent partnership work.
From the point that Harrison was diagnosed as a baby, my family and I have benefited enormously from the information, advice and practical support that NDCS offers. I am thrilled to be able to use my skills and experience to help lead the work of NDCS. I am passionate about promoting equality for all children who have any degree of hearing loss so that they can reach their full potential. - Lisa Capper

Brendan Cleere
Brendan has three children who are triplets, Eddie, Alex and Charlotte. Eddie is profoundly deaf and wears a cochlear implant. Brendan works as a local government strategic director in South West England, and has wide ranging experience of leading services which have a direct impact on young people, such as leisure and environmental education.
NDCS has been a hugely valuable source of support and advice for our whole family since Eddie was first diagnosed deaf as a baby in 1999. It is a great privilege to be able to be an NDCS trustee – I will do all I can in this role to help deaf children everywhere achieve their full potential in life. - Brendan Cleere
-
Andy Fancy
Andy Fancy’s son Charlie is deaf and wears a bone anchored hearing aid. Andy is Business Unit Director with Wates Group, one of the largest UK building and construction companies.
NCDS has been a wonderful source of encouragement and support during Charlie's early years. I am proud to be a small part of NDCS which truly places deaf children and their families at the heart of everything the charity does. - Andy Fancy

Gerard Featherstone
Gerard’s son John had a progressive hearing loss since birth and received a cochlear implant when he was two years old. John attends a mainstream school with a deaf base. Gerard lives in the North West of England and works for his local further education college. He has his own marketing and publishing company.
I really want to help to raise expectations of our deaf children and empower parents to make informed decisions about their children’s future. I am delighted to be able share my personal and professional experience to contribute to the mission of NDCS. - Gerard Featherstone
-
Matthew Hilton
Matthew Hilton is Vice-Chair of the Trustee Board and Chairman of the NDCS’s Governance Committee.
We have hugely appreciated the support and service that Natasha and the rest of the family get from NDCS. Since becoming a Trustee, I’ve been privileged to see that effort from the NDCS perspective as well. I hope that I contribute to NDCS by bringing my professional and personal experience to the work of the Board. I hope, too, that my perspective as a parent of a deaf child with additional special needs brings a helpful extra dimension. - Matthew Hilton
-
Gavin Hogg
Gavin Hogg is the father of two profoundly deaf children aged 12 and 14 years.
I feel for deaf children and their parents, as deafness is the hidden disability, and that there is still a huge misunderstanding within the local community about the problems associated with deafness - which I feel is unacceptable - Gavin Hogg
-
Claire McClafferty
Claire McClafferty is the parent of four school age children, one of whom has severe hearing loss and one of whom has moderate hearing loss. Claire is a long standing member of the West of Scotland Deaf Children’s Society (WSDCS).

-
Brian Trotman
Brian Trotman is a chartered accountant and has held senior financial and commercial roles in the service industry. He is the Honorary Treasurer of NDCS.
I am a co-opted Trustee of NDCS, which means that I do not have a deaf child, although I am a parent. From both my personal and professional perspective I am immensely impressed by the work that NDCS does and how it goes about doing it. My aim is to use my financial and commercial experience to help the charity to continue to support and empower deaf young people and their families. - Brian Trotman
