TOPIC: New and need advice

Hi everyone, I'm new here and hoping for some support\advice. My son's is 4 and a half nearly and a typically happy, bright fun loving wee boy. As a toddler her was referred to a speech therapist due to a fairly significant speech delay and this has continued to this day. My son does not yet seem ready for formal speech exercises and will actively disengage if we try games etc but we have some iPad apps he likes which we are trying to do with him regularly. Several months ago he was diagnosed with mild hearing loss in both ears and we were told it was due to glue ear. 3 months later another test showed his hearing was back in the normal range and the glue ear had cleared. At the same time he was checked out by ENT who advised he was fine and the speech delay would likely clear itself once my son started school in August. This all took place over self-deception 2016. Several weeks ago i noticed my son seemed to question what we were saying like he couldn't hear us and would appear to completely ignore me when i was calling him....Not totally unusual as he can be a tad strong willed at times. However nursery had noticed it to so i took him to the Dr to be checked out. No glue ear at all but some slight congestion so the Dr asked us to come back in 3 weeks for a follow up and we would discuss a 2nd referral to audiology if we felt it was warranted. Sorry this is so long....My question is, is it possible for a child to pass a hearing test but for there still to be a problem? I'm worried I'm looking for problems where there are none but I'm also terrified of overlooking something. As an aside, my son does seem to struggle with concentration at times, can be extremely loud and always seems to like the tv\ipad up loud. He also has a fairly loud and persistent at times vocal tick...This has been thoroughly investigated but no diagnosis has been provided. Finally he did also fail his new born hearing test, but passed again a couple of weeks later. Any insight of advice would be much appreciated. Thanks x
