We've made it as quick and painless as possible!

TOPIC: Theme park q

My daughter has moderate loss which she has two aids for, she also has expressive language delay, sight issues (not a visual impairment) issues with her feet (fallen arches, turned in feet, walks on tiptoes) and very bad balance issues (falls from standing for no reason etc) due to the sight and hearing issues.

Yesterday we went to paultons Park and whilst it was fairly quiet and we didn't really need to q that much when we did need to q my daughter was having a full on melt down. She didn't want to stand (I don't know if it's because her feet /legs hurt due to her issues or if she was being a pain in the butt) and she removed her hearing aids which she never does (so not sure if the noise of the people in the q was an issue for her).

Do you think I have legit reasons to ask our consultant to write a letter saying she can't q for whatever reasons or I've just got an inpatient child. I am not one to use her disabled status for things just because I can but on the other hand because she's non verbal I don't know what the issue is for her.

REPLIES TO THIS MESSAGE

In my experience (we are Merlin Pass holder) most parks now require a 'cognitive learning disability' as a reason for needing to have an exit pass. Things such as down syndrome and ASD are an automatic exemption for queueing, but other reasons aren't valid, and won't get an exit pass.

We went to paultons park at the beginning the year and just took the diagnosis letters, if you go onto their website they tell you not to take DLA because it doesn't state the disability, the diagnosis letter was really old but they still accepted it, we did the same at LEGOLAND as well...
