We also provide free printed publications for members of NDCS, on a wide range of issues surrounding childhood deafness.
Training and monitoring
For training and monitoring purposes we sometimes record or listen in to calls received on the Helpline. Please let us know if you are not happy for us to do this.
The Freephone Helpline team is bound by a confidentiality policy.
Calling using a minicom
Minicom calls to the Freephone Helpline have to be transferred so if you do not get an immediate response please do not hang up.
Our Helpline operators should be able to reply to you within 30 to 60 seconds of you making the call.
Alternatively you can email the helpline and request a minicom callback. Our email address is helpline@ndcs.org.uk
Please remember to include your minicom phone number in the email.
What to do if your first language isn't English
If your first language is not English, we can still help.
We use an interpreting service which can translate over 100 different languages.
To be able to use the service we just need to know (in English) which language you speak and your phone number. If it is easier you can get a friend or relative to do this for you.
Tell us this information by calling 0808 800 8880 (voice and text) and we will call you back with an interpreter on the line.
Alternatively you can email the helpline and request an interpreted callback. Our email address is helpline@ndcs.org.uk
Please remember to include your phone number and the language you wish to speak in the email.
