Who is it for?

  • Are you deaf (any level of hearing loss), 13 to 16 years old and living in Scotland?
  • Are you the parent or carer of a deaf teenager?

If so our Who am I? weekends are for you!

Information for young people

At these weekend events, you can meet other young deaf people from all over Scotland, make new friends and have fun! All methods of communication will be catered for.

Take part in:

  • fun activities
  • creative workshops on confidence and identity.
You can download a booking form at the top of this page. Your parent/carer will need to complete it. If you would like to register your interest or if you have questions, please email ingrid@ndcs.org.uk.

Information for parents or carers and families

Who am I? family weekends are an opportunity for parents and carers of young deaf people to meet others and share experiences in a relaxed environment.

Parent activities will include:

  • Our values and beliefs: what is important to you as a parent or carer and what do you think is important to your children?
  • Owning deafness: How can you best support your deaf child as they become an adult?
There will also be fun activities for siblings so that they can meet others who have deaf brothers and sisters.

Siblings activities will include:

  • fun activities on identity and understanding deafness.
