Deaf children and young deaf people

Stand up and say “Me 2!” We want to hear about your experiences with youth organisations and activities, good or bad. This could be anything from a leisure centre to an activity club. Maybe an instructor or an organisation has made some changes to help you have a brilliant time? Or maybe you have sometimes felt left out? If so, contact us and let us know.
Check out the section on deaf friendly youth organisations. They’ve told us they’re making some simple changes to be more inclusive to young deaf people like you. If a local club, group or facility you want to join is not on the list, tell them about this website and ask them to look at our tips for inclusion.
Youth organisations, facilities and volunteers

You can make small and simple changes that would open up your doors to young deaf people. Sign up to our Me2 Deaf-Friendly Pledge for youth organisations and access free training and resources that will help you to become deaf friendly. Or why not take a look at our section on tips for inclusion for information on how to work and communicate effectively with deaf children and young deaf people.
Parents and teachers

Encourage your child / children to tell us about their experiences, good or bad, with youth organisations, clubs and facilities. Or contact us directly yourselves to tell us about your child's experiences. We will use this information to promote good practice where youth organisations and facilities are doing great work. Or we will campaign and work with youth organisations that need to do more to become deaf friendly!
If you’re looking for activities for your child to get involved in, check out our list of deaf friendly organisations and facilities. Or help us spread the word! If your local organisation is not on this list, tell them about this campaign and the inclusion tips available on this website.
