May - Mind and Body

The monthly theme for May was Mind and Body - a subject that we think can be widely interpreted and transformed into lots of fun activities!

Some ideas for May's theme

Here are some ideas to go with the theme for May:

  • A good place to start is with books, poems, blogs or cartoons that make you laugh. We all know that laughing is good for us so why not get stuck into something funny. Children may enjoy reading joke books, silly stories, rhymes and cartoons.
  • You could visit the local library and borrow books about the body or keeping healthy. They will have books suitable for all ages to learn about the human body and what children can do stay healthy. Perhaps you could share the books and take up a new hobby to keep your minds and bodies healthy together!
  • You could read information from different websites about keeping your mind and body healthy or leaflets from different organisations.
  • You might want to join in the National Year of Reading ‘Bedtime Campaign’ which is encouraging parents to read to their child for ten minutes before bed.
