NDCS Story Writing Competition
Calling all budding authors! We hope you’ve been inspired during the National Year of Reading and have enjoyed lots of new books.
To celebrate the end of the project, NDCS is running a creative story writing competition for children and young people of all ages.

The competition prize is to get your story published in a book produced by NDCS which can then be read and enjoyed by other children and young people.
The book will be available from NDCS in early December. We'll choose a selection of the best stories for the book and will also put some of the stories that don’t make it into the book onto our website for others to read.
The theme for the writing competition is dreams.
Here are a few suggested ideas for your story, but please feel free to make up your own:
- The dream
- My dream book
- Dream of the future
- Day-dreaming
- Was it a dream?
- My dream world
Your story can be handwritten or typed up and can be any length. If you’d like to add illustrations to your writing that would also be great. We’d also like your suggestions for the title of the story book.
