A charity auction at the Mortgage Times Group Second Annual Awards raised a staggering £7,000 for the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS), the only UK charity solely dedicated to the support of deaf children and young people, their families, and professionals working with them.
Platform (Intermediary lender of Britannia Building Society) Head of Sales, Richard Beardshaw made the winning bid during the auction and secured himself a short break to New York. Richard Beardshaw said: “This well organised event was a big success for everyone involved and I hope the money raised will benefit this hugely deserving cause.”
Alex Speke, NDCS Corporate Partnerships Manager, says:
“We are delighted that the Mortgage Times Group have supported the NDCS in this way. Every day in the UK three babies are born deaf and 90% are born to hearing parents with no experience of deafness.
The NDCS provides vital support to deaf children and their families in all aspects of their lives. We offer support, information and events and campaign for brighter futures for deaf children. Our work is reliant on donations and is only possible with the commitment of organisations like the Mortgage Times Group.”
The Mortgage Times Group is a mortgage and insurance network that has over 6000 members. Paul Carmody, Director of The Mortgage Times Group, commented: “We are very proud indeed to be linked to such a worthwhile charity. I know from personal experience the work that NDCS puts in every day, and everyone here at The Mortgage Times Group is glad to be able to help in some small way.”
