Project funding
If your organisation is looking for tangible outcomes from your partnership with a charity, then look no further than the NDCS.
Your money can go to and pay for specific projects that will make a real difference to the lives of the deaf children. In fact, we rely on voluntary donations for over 95% of our income.
However you decide to support the NDCS, your money is vital for us to fund innovative and specific projects in a wide range of areas, across the UK and around the world, so that we can work towards our vision of a future without barriers for every deaf child. Here are just a few examples of the kinds of projects you could support:
New equipment - as technology advances, so do the opportunities available to deaf children but we need your support to help supply the equipment needed. For example, educational equipment such as computers or radio aids for deaf children in low income families.
Sports programmes – from football to tennis to sailing, sport provides a great opportunity for deaf youngsters of all ages to socialise in a deaf friendly setting, and more importantly, a chance to show off their skills!
Arts and drama programmes – our award winning programmes need your support in order to reach more deaf children, so that they can benefit from our inspiring, innovative and fun events that help build confidence and make new friends!
International work – The World Health Organisation estimates that 80% of the world's 278 million deaf people live in developing countries and 25% became deaf as children. Only 10% of deaf children living in developing countries receive any education at all. Through the International Deaf Children's Society (IDCS) your money can go a long way. So if your company is international or has offices around the world, this is a great opportunity for you to show your support.
There are many other initiatives developing all the time but these can only go ahead with your support. Without your support, we can only really offer a very basic 'service' where many deaf children might be denied exciting opportunities that could help shape their whole future. With your support, you really can help make a world of difference, allowing us to go ahead with pioneering initiatives that will allow every deaf child a future without barriers.
We can provide you with regular reports and updates on the services which you are helping to fund, including case studies of the children your donation is directly supporting, so you and your staff will know exactly how you are making a real difference.
