Celebration donations!

Asking for a donation in lieu of or as well as a gift is a very easy and personal way to celebrate a special occasion like a wedding, birthday or anniversary and support NDCS at the same time.

Jane Loughran’s 2 year old little boy George is profoundly deaf and has bilateral cochlear implants. Jane’s brother Christopher and his wife Nikki decided to forgo traditional wedding presents and instead asked guests if they would donate to an online page they set up for NDCS. Nikki said: “Guests started asking us what presents we would like, and we realised we didn't need anything. So we decided to set up an online fundraising page instead, for people to donate to a charity that has been so important to our family over the last few years."

Christopher and Nikki have raised an amazing £1242.

Jane said “My husband and I, George, and our older son Henry went on the preschool NDCS weekend in Ellesmere Port. The support and advice we were given was absolutely invaluable. Thanks to all the information, we now feel empowered to ensure George goes to the right preschool and gets the right level of support. Donations like those of my brother’s wedding guests helped create a better future for George and dozens of other deaf children.”
