Fundraising ideas
Here are some fundraising ideas and tips for individuals or organisations to think about.
Churches
You and your congregation can make a great contribution to the fabulous work that the NDCS are doing for deaf children and young adults all over the world.
Here are just some of the great ways in which you and your fellow worshipers can help the NDCS:
- Hold a collection on our behalf. This works particularly well at Christmas and Easter time.
- Hold a fundraising Christmas carol show. You can charge a very low admission fee or simply ask for donations for performing Christmas carols to an audience. If you are brave enough, you may even be able to do this in a shopping mall or somewhere with many people
- Hold a coffee morning with your friends and family. You can provide tea and coffee and some yummy baked treats. Don’t forget to ask people to make a donation before they leave!
Individuals
Why wait around for friends and colleagues to fundraise with you when you can have a go at it yourself?
If you are a person who is clear about what they want, have good organisation skills or just want to add some event management to your CV, why not plan your very own fundraising event.
Here are just some ideas of how you can raise money for the NDCS:
- Hold a cake sale. If you are a good baker or want to experiment with some new recipes, try holding a cake sale with your fancy treats! You can price cakes and biscuits per piece and even sell tea and coffee as an accomplice.
- Want to clear out your home? There is no better way than organising a bric and brac buy sale.
- Love cleaning? Why not hold a local car wash and donate proceeds to the NDCS.
- Party animals this is for you! Ever thought about organising a disco? If so, how about having a funky themed disco in aid or the NDCS? We can also jazz up your venue with some balloons and posters. You can then donate the entry fee raised to the NDCS.
- Fancy running, but not quite ready for a marathon? If so, why not make up your own sponsored run route to raise money for the NDCS? To make it even more exciting, do it in fancy dress! That will get some heads turning!
- Football fanatics here’s one for you! Why not hold a blindfolded penalty shootout? Invite friends, colleagues and family to take part. You can be the blindfolded penalty taker or better still a blindfolded goalkeeper! To raise money ask people to sponsor you per goal (saved or scored) or charge a fee come along and watch the game.
- Brave enough to shave? If so, why not hold a sponsored head shave for the NDCS? You can arrange a time and date and carry out the act of bravery in public! You can only hold this event on one condition; you must take photos!
