What commitment will I have to make?
Find out how much of a commitment you'll need to make if you choose to volunteer for the NDCS.
Commitment required for events volunteers
Requirements vary massively. Volunteers may only attend one daytime event all year or they may attend a few one-day events and a week-long holiday. There are opportunities for you to help without having to commit yourself to every week or every month. It depends what we have available and what you want to commit to.
Please be aware that when volunteering on a residential project hours can be very long and it can be very tiring. Volunteering is intended to be enjoyable for you and a chance to make new friends. Many of our volunteers return year after year, but please do not underestimate how hard work the residential projects can be.
Commitment required for Family Supporters
The amount of commitment is up to the individual and depends on how much time you want to give. It could range from contacting a family once a month by phone to meeting with a family once a week or more.
