Current volunteer opportunities

There are exciting ways you can volunteer for us with deaf children, young people and their families to suit your skills and interests. Some of these opportunities are available across the UK and could be local to you.

Role: Online Community Moderator

Location: Home based UK wide

Do you regularly use online forums? Could you spare a few hours a week to help be an online moderator?

National Deaf Children’s Society is looking for volunteers to support us as moderators for our Online Community. Volunteers would be home based and using your own internet/ wifi access and computer or tablet, you could help us provide a safe, informative and useful forum for parents and professionals who work with deaf children and young people.

Role: Family Member Presenter Volunteer

Location: UK wide

Our Family Member volunteers share their personal experiences of having a deaf child in the family and facilitate group discussions with the families who attend the Family Programme Events.

Help to support deaf children and young people at events helping them join in with activities, communicate and have fun.

Our deaf group supporters help supervise children and young people during activities and ensure they get the most out our events.
