Our face-to-face workshops for swimming teachers and coaches, 'Making Swimming Deaf-Friendly' and 'British Sign Language for Swimming' support teachers and coaches to develop confidence communicating with deaf children and young people and adapt their activities to make them more inclusive.
Our resources include:
Information, advice and tips to coach deaf swimmers, BSL flashcards, BSL Videos and an online CPD course
NDCS is funding deaf young people to become swimming teachers. Are you interested in becoming a swimming teacher? Could you inspire deaf children in swimming?
In partnership with Local Authorities, Sports Development and Leisure Trusts we are offering Deaf-Friendly Swimming Lessons across the country.
If we do not have a partnership near you at the moment we hope to soon!
Take an in depth look at the Deaf-Friendly Swimming Project and find out how we've been making waves recently.
One of the great things about swimming is that it’s an inclusive sport that anyone can take part in; this makes swimming an ideal activity for those with disabilities.
