Me2 Deaf-friendly activities

There are over 45,000 deaf children and young people aged up to 19 in the UK. They all have the right to the same opportunities as a hearing child. But communication barriers mean that many mainstream youth facilities and activities are not accessible to deaf children and young people, so they are missing out.

Since the Me2 project started, hundreds of organisations have signed up to our deaf-friendly activities pledge and with our support and advice have been able to include deaf young people in their activities - an outstanding result!

We are exciting to be launching our new Deaf-friendly Standards in summer 2017, which will help young people find your services more easily and provide you with more information, resources and online training. If you would like to get onboard then simply express an interest with the team.

How do I find out more?

There are more details coming in the New Year so keep an eye on this page for updates!

If you need support to include a deaf young person in your activities you can contact the Youth Development and Partnerships team at Me2@ndcs.org.uk.
