NDCS staff blogs
As part of the continuing development of NDCS's digital output, we've created a number of blogs to supplement the information we supply to the families of deaf children and the professionals that work with them.
Below you'll find some information about blogs in general along with how you can get involved. Further down you'll see a summary of and links to all our new blogs.

About our blogs
What is a blog?
A blog is a specialised website which allows an individual or a group to share a running log of news, personal insights, experiences and expert opinion.
What is the intention of our blogs?
These blogs allow our staff to write
on issues as and when they arise, providing you with
up-to-date information on specialist areas.
Blogs also act as forums for discussion. Any
reader (that's you!) can enter the debate via comments which are displayed underneath every blog
post. We hope that by establishing a more personal conversation with
our supporters, we'll be even better able to respond to the needs of our
members.
How can I get involved?
The easiest way for you to get involved is to leave a comment on any blog post which interests you. In addition, the email addresses for each of our bloggers appear below. Get in touch if you'd like to suggest topics for discussion or perhaps pen a guest entry of your own.
Campaigns
In his capacity as Campaigns Officer at NDCS, Ian Noon's blog describes his work in breaking down the barriers faced by deaf children and young people.
The tagline on his blog, 'a man with a mission, a soapbox AND a placard' is indicative not only of his working ethos, but also of the tongue-in-cheek style he employs, making his blog informative, humorous and highly readable.

Professional support
Angela Deckett is NDCS's Education, Health and Social Care Officer.
Acting as a resource hub, Angela's blog links to further sources of information on both the NDCS website and external sites, making it a must-bookmark read for professionals working her area.

Deaf Child Worldwide
Kirsty
Wilson's blog is an indispensable look at our international development
work at Deaf Child Worldwide. Having worked in the field for four
years, Kirsty is able to convey her opinions on the issues affecting
deaf people globally, be it governmental or grassroots.
She welcomes
and encourages comments on her blog, both from those poersonally
affected by the matters she describes and those working in similar
organisations.

Coming soon...
We're currently setting up a multiple-author blog which will feature contributions from professionals who work with deaf children and their families.
We hope that this blog will stimulate analysis and debate around subjects which, as an unbiased charity, we're not normally able to comment on. We invite readers to use the blog as a forum for discussion - users can comment anonymously if they wish. Any candidate bloggers should contact Angela Deckett at: angela.deckett@ndcs.org.uk.
