A big thank you!
We would like to say a massive thank you to the NDCS marathon team for their tremendous effort in the Virgin London Marathon 2010!
60 fantastic runners put a phenomenal amount of time and effort into training and fundraising for the event and are on track to reach their collective fundraising target of £87,000! Thank you to everyone who took part.
NDCS were also lucky enough to be involved in Phil Packer’s exciting challenge as he set out to complete the 26 mile course in 26 hours, while dedicating each mile to a different charity. This is a fantastic achievement for Phil, an Iraq war veteran who was severely injured in 2008.
Jade Potter, who is moderately deaf herself, walked mile 3 of the London Marathon with Phil, as an ambassador for deaf young people.
Jade Potter said: “I was thrilled to have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be an ambassador for deaf children. This walk was a fantastic way to raise awareness of deafness.”
If you are inspired to run next year’s marathon why not sign up for your place.
