Government announces priorities for year ahead

The Queen has today announced new proposals for government action across the UK, including on education and equality. NDCS will be working to make sure deaf children benefit from these changes.

NDCS will be focusing its attention on the Equality Bill  for England, Wales and Scotland which aims to ensure everyone has a fair chance in life, by reforming existing discrimination law.

The Children, Skills and Learning Bill for England will look to promote excellence in schools to ensure that every school becomes a good school. In the context of NDCS's campaign to Close the Gap, NDCS will be looking for action to ensure that deaf children get the support they need to reach their potential.

Finally, the Health Bill aims to improve the quality of NHS care and services and improve public health in England, while the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill will create greater opportunities for community and individual empowerment.
