Job vacancy: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
The Children’s Services, in partnership with the Speech & Language Therapy Department of Cumbria Health (PCT), are looking for a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to provide individual support.
The Therapist will work jointly with the Specialist Teacher of the Deaf to provide a specialist service to a school aged child with specific language impairment and a cochlear implant.
The Therapist will be required to provide:
- A speech and language programme
- A regular session of one hour a week, which consists of direct treatment and the monitoring/amendment of the programme.
- Advice and support to teaching staff to allow for access to the curriculum.
Skills and qualifications that address aspects of hearing impairment and specific language impairment is essential.
You will be a member of the Speech and Language Therapy Department of Cumbria Health (PCT). There is excellent support and supervision within the department. Clinical Professional Development is encouraged.
