Education data: England - Government figures for Key Stage 4
The Department for Children, Schools and Families has provided
NDCS with a national and regional data on how deaf children perform at Key
Stage 4.
This data covers children whose hearing impairment is the primary type
of special educational need and who have a statement or who are placed at
School Action Plus.

The data
has been provided to NDCS by the Government.

NDCS spreadsheet on Key Stage 4 data over three-year periods
Deafness is a low incidence disability and, as a result of low samples in each year, some of the data, particularly at a regional level, is inherently more volatile.
To iron out this volatility, NDCS has used the Government figures to produce rolling three year averages of attainment across England.
These figures may be particularly useful in looking at performance by region. Data is available for performance from 2005 to 2007, and from 2006 to 2008.
