Free facilitator training to deliver NDCS parenting curriculum
NDCS is looking to recruit 12 people to facilitate the delivery of its
established Parenting a Deaf Child curriculum in various community
languages. This curriculum is designed to support positive parenting
and to give deaf children the best possible start in life.
Free four-day training will be provided in deaf awareness and facilitation techniques.
Once trained, these facilitators will be paid to deliver the parenting curriculum to Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) families across three regions in England.
The prospective candidates should:
- Live in London, the West Midlands or Yorkshire and Humberside.
- Be fluent in least one of the following community languages in addition to English: Urdu, Bengali/Sylheti, Punjabi, Mirpuri Punjabi, Arabic, Turkish, Somali, French or Polish.
- Have some connection with deaf/disabled children (either a parent/carer or professional working with deaf/disabled children).
- Have some experience of facilitating or delivering training in a paid or voluntary capacity (parenting course, workshops, seminars and so on).
