Find out about NDCS Scotland's BME Family Support Volunteers
NDCS Scotland now has nine BME (Black Minority Ethnic) Family Support
Volunteers who have successfully completed their training with NDCS.
These volunteers have received training on Family Support and some of them have received training on providing support at NDCS Family Weekends.
The volunteers can be used to provide emotional support to newly diagnosed families and also communication support when family officers and statutory staff do home visits or can be used to make the first contact with the family over the phone or via email.
They can also support our events team to provide communication support to make our NDCS events or any local group events more accessible to families for whom English may not be the first language. To find out more about the BME Family Support Volunteers, and to find out how to contact them, click here.
