Why does NDCS organise Fun Days?
NDCS Fun Days are a great opportunity to meet other families with deaf children, as well as the NDCS staff and local groups based in your area. Over 95% of parents asked after the 2011 Fun Days said the event made them feel more supported and part of a community.
So don’t miss out and book your free family place today!
Activities
The 2012 events are being held at adventure parks and farms that have a variety of exciting activities. NDCS members can enter these parks for free on the day of the Fun Day, and communication support will be provided at various attractions to ensure the day is accessible to your deaf child.
As well as the wonderful activities at the venues we have chosen, there will be a special NDCS area open only to deaf children and their families.
Activities may include:
- Bouncy castle and inflatables
- Arts & craft sessions
- Face painting
- Sports coaching sessions
- NDCS Mini Olympics
- Teddy Bears' picnic
There really will be something for everyone at our fun days!
The list above is just to give you an idea of the activities at your Fun Day. Full information on the activities for each individual event will be available one month before the fun day on the NDCS Events pages.
Grab some information
Come to the information stand to meet exibitors with information on childhood deafness. Pick up free publications, and meet the NDCS staff in your region.
Meet your local group
We are inviting the local groups registered to NDCS to come up with ideas about how they can get involved with the days. Come and meet the parents, professionals, and volunteers that run these groups, and find out more about the group in your area.
