Who is the RFL?
The Rugby Football League is the National Governing Body for rugby league in England and supports participants and fans from the grassroots to the national team.
When do they meet?
Rugby clubs across the country meet weekly for training and matches. Deaf and hearing impaired players all play in mainstream clubs and leagues. Clubs meet at evenings and weekends.
How are they deaf friendly?
The RFL are working with NDCS to increase awareness of deaf players’ needs and are encouraging young deaf people and adults to become coaches through running coaching courses with BSL interpreters. The RFL will be encouraging clubs to sign the deaf friendly pledge and to recruit deaf children through running taster sessions in partnership with the NDCS.
