Lucy-Mae gets the whole family fundraising!

Published Date: 28 Jun 2019

Lucy-Mae Johnson has been very busy in her local community, trying all the ways she can to raise money for the National Deaf Children’s Society! Lucy-Mae started off by cooking rock cakes to sell in her local coffee shop for our charity, but she was soon singing up more people to fundraise for us! Mum, Laura, was encouraged to take on a fundraising run whilst her aunt was tasked with fundraising at the local beer festival (for adults only!).

Not satisfied yet, Lucy-Mae decided to have a clear out of all of her beloved teddy bears to raise as much as she can.

Over the past year, the family have raised over £1,000 to support deaf children across the UK – and Lucy-Mae hasn’t stopped yet! She has held a fundraising day at her school and organised a second teddy bear sale, raising an amazing £400 for our charity and the Central Lancashire Deaf Children’s Society. She's already putting her next fundraiser into action - a fundraising raffle!

Claire Lubbock, Community Fundraiser at the National Deaf Children’s Society, said “Lucy-Mae’s tireless dedication to fundraising has just been brilliant, she clearly has an infectious passion for helping others. For Lucy-Mae to have sold some of her favourite teddy bears to help support our work just shows what a selfless fundraiser she is. Thank you Lucy-Mae, we think you are a superstar!”
