Big Cake Bake
The Big Cake Bake is our fundraiser for Deaf Awareness Week (6-12 May).
A Big Cake Bake is a fundraising bake sale in aid of the National Deaf Children's Society. People all over the country host their own Big Cake Bakes at home, work or in their community – anywhere where people like cake! All this delicious fundraising goes to help us continue to break down barriers for the 50,000 deaf children in the UK.
Your Big Cake Bake can be as big or small as you like. Whether it is at home, at your local club or at work it's all about having fun with friends, family and colleagues whilst raising money for deaf children and young people. Sign up today to get your free Big Cake Bake Kit!
How do I get involved?
Hosting your own Big Cake Bake is, well, a piece of cake:
1. Sign up to receive your free Big Cake Bake pack
2. Organise and promote your event
3. Get baking (or fake your bake with store bought!)
4. Host your event - ask for a donation for a slice of cake
5. Pay in your dough
Why host a Big Cake Bake?
By supporting our work, you’re making a big difference to the lives of deaf children.
Because of you, we can help more children like Lily, who struggled at school after being bullied for her deafness. Luckily, our Healthy Minds service was there to help her deal with her anxiety about going to school.
Now Lily is back to her bright and funny self, proud of her deafness and pink hearing aids!
What have we cooked up to help your day taste sweet?
Your Big Cake Bake pack has everything you need for your day, including:
- A handy fundraising guide
- Posters to help you spread the word
- A cake stencil
- A donation box sticker
- Balloons to decorate your sale
You can also find some yummy recipes from your favourite celebrities to help inspire your baking below. Not much of a baker? We don't think it's cheating if you fake your bake with store bought as long as your fundraising for us!
Paying in your fundraising
If you are sending in your funds via bank transfer, don’t forget to pop 'BCB' into the reference so we can track your donation.
