Santa Walk
Could your family take on a Santa Walk to raise money to help transform the lives of deaf children? It’s the perfect chance to make the most of the crisp December days, stretch your legs outdoors and spend time with loved ones.
About the challenge
Where: Anywhere you like
When: Anytime in December
Duration: Choose a suitable distance for your group
Registration fee: Free
Pick a route and distance suitable for the whole family and have fun! You can either tackle it in one go or split it into smaller chunks. You might like to do 5K, 10K or go for a longer distance if you’re feeling extra energetic.
We'll even send you a purple Santa hat to help you get into the festive spirit on your walk!
Join the challenge on Facebook
Join our Facebook group, then follow the instructions in the group description to sign up for the challenge and set up your fundraising page.
We’ve set up a group on Facebook so you can be part of a friendly, supportive community. In the group you can share photos of your Santa Walk as well as useful ideas to help everyone smash their fundraising target.
Other ways to take part
If you would prefer not to join the Facebook group, you can fill out our online registration form and create an online fundraising page.
If you don't use Facebook, you can still register online, then either:
- set up a fundraising page on JustGiving
- download a sponsorship form (PDF) to collect sponsorship money offline and send us the money you raise.
What you’ll get
We’re here to support you and will send you some goodies to keep you motivated.
- After you’ve received your first donation, you’ll get a National Deaf Children’s Society purple Santa hat and clapper banner.
- If you raise £150, we’ll send you a National Deaf Children’s Society badge as a special thank you.
Taking part as a family or group
When you register, you can let us know how many people are taking part. Don’t forget to include a group photo on your fundraising page!
Tracking your distance
It’s up to you to track and record your route and distance. We’d recommend using an app like Strava, which will track how far you walk. You can post your time and distance straight from the app to your fundraising page to show your supporters you’ve completed the Santa Walk.
