Training provider

I’m an training provider because…

Deaf training provider

"I’m passionate about educating society on the barriers and frustrations faced by people with disabilities. I devise and deliver equality, diversity and disability awareness training to businesses and organisations.

Spurred on by a desire to help others I originally trained as an audiologist. I faced negative attitudes from medical professionals but after three long years and through sheer determination and my lip-reading skills, I became the first deaf audiologist in England. Later I became a trainer/consultant working with businesses, organisations, schools and colleges and finally achieved my dream of running my own business.

I’m profoundly deaf with acute tinnitus. The only special equipment I use for my work is my trusty old minicom for Text Relay calls. I’m self-employed and also run my own holiday cottage business, making sure guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds! My current dream is to write a book and to run a property development and interior design business."
