How to apply for the Deaf-friendly Standard

All organisations that provide services for children and young people that meet certain criteria can apply for the Deaf-friendly Standard.

Deaf-friendly Standard self-assessment form

There are three levels to the award: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. You can review whether you meet the criteria for each level of the award in our self-assessment form.

Once you’ve completed the form, please email it to [email protected].

What happens next

Once we’ve received your form, we’ll get back to you within 15 working days to acknowledge your application and review your assessment

As part of the moderation process, you may be asked to provide some form of evidence showing how you meet the criteria. There will also be an opportunity for a visit from one of our Young Inspectors to validate your assessment.

If successful, we'll send you our welcome pack which will include your Deaf-friendly Standard logo. Your logo will be in JPG format for you to include on all your promotional materials!

We encourage all organisations to actively review their deaf-friendly standard status and work towards achieving a higher standard for their service.
