Family Sign Language - commissioned course

Our new family sign language course can help families struggling to communicate with their deaf child

The course can be booked by schools, local authorities, voluntary organisations and any other services that work with families of deaf children. We can deliver the course directly to the families you work with.

The course provides parents and carers with the skills to communicate with their deaf child through sign language. Attendees will learn simple signs for everyday family situations and topics.

One of our expert deaf tutors will deliver the course in a series of fun, interactive sessions. Each session will cover a variety of topics that are tailored to the age range and lifestyle of your service users or beneficiaries.

The course is suitable for up to six parents, carers, or family members of deaf children. The topics covered are best suited to children aged 0-11, however families with older children are welcome to take part.

‘The sessions have helped us a lot, with my daughter at home from school now we are using sign language more and more every day.’
