Introduction to Deaf Awareness - CPD accredited

Module overview

This CPD accredited module is the perfect place to start learning about deaf awareness, and only takes about 15 minutes to complete!

During this course, you will cover topics including:

  • Lip-reading
  • Language: BSL vs. SSE
  • Basic fingerspelling
  • Basic BSL greetings

Learning outcomes

After completing the module, you will have a better awareness of some of the challenges that deaf people experience when trying to communicate with hearing people and you will be able to name some of the things you can do to make lip-reading easier. You will also get to learn some basic fingerspelling.
