CaLM: Communication and Language Mentoring for Deaf Children aged 0-5
It is critical that deaf children are given rich, stimulating activities to promote language and communication development. This can have a huge impact on their later life - from being able to share their thoughts and feelings, expressing needs to making friends.
Join us at our free upcoming Practitioner Day on the 12 December 2019, in Glyndwr University, Wrexham.
Through these hands-on, one-day workshops, you'll experience how to utilise sensory play and reading effectively with deaf children to promote communication skills. You will also come away from the day with a variety of practical techniques that you can directly implement into your setting.
- Exploring sensory reading with deaf children
- Using sensory play to promote language and communication development
- Using sensory storytelling to promote language and communication development
- Deaf awareness and assistive technology
