Website accessibility

We are committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all users.

We strive to improve the user experience and apply accessibility best practices to make our website as inclusive as possible.

Our commitment

We aim to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, international standard for improving web accessibility.

Website accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigation support
  • Alternative text for images
  • Colour combinations, contrast and typography
  • Captions for most videos
  • Readable and scalable text
  • Clear and consistent navigation

British Sign Language (BSL)

We are committed to providing information in BSL wherever possible. We work with BSL users to provide key information in BSL on our website.

Not all webpages are currently available in BSL, but we are always looking for new ways to improve our offer.

If you require specific information in BSL, please use Sign Video to contact our Helpline for support.

Ongoing improvements to accessibility

We continuously review and improve our website to check and enhance accessibility.

Most PDF documents on our website are not fully accessible to screen reader software. We try to avoid using PDFs wherever possible. We are working towards replacing PDFs containing information and advice content with accessible web pages.

Nearly all the video content on the website without BSL translations have captions to make them more accessible, and we are working to ensure all these videos are captioned.
