Freddie's grandparents come to visit!

Published Date: 24 Nov 2022

Freddie's grandparents were happy to share their recent visit with Freddie and his mum, Beth.

"We’re very proud grandparents to the gorgeous Freddie and are currently ending a two-week trip visiting him and his mummy in Cyprus. Having them so far away is hard, but we’ve been fortunate enough to have visited twice since August 2021.

We’ve had a great time out here, visiting some amazing places with Freddie. It’s been lovely to see his reactions and interactions with his friends, the adults he sees on a daily basis out here, the animals at the Camel Park, anything which has wheels (brum!), and to us, just playing with him either at home or at a nearby soft play.

We are thankful for FaceTime which we use daily when we’re back home in the UK so Freddie has always had sight of us in his life and a firm relationship with us. Although we are mindful to speak to his hearing side, sometimes we do forget this and whisper and talk to him in either ear. We don’t believe that Freddie’s profound unilateral deafness defines him – it’s just part of him, completely perfectly him, and we don’t apologise for being totally biased."

Beth

Beth and her husband Nick are parents to Freddie (1) who has a profound hearing loss in his left ear. The family travel a lot for Nick’s work and currently live abroad.
