Meet one of our fundraisers
Find out more about the fundraisers that work for the National Deaf Children’s Society.
"Our fundraisers are passionate about our work with deaf children and families across the UK and are great at communicating this to new supporters." Susan Daniels, Chief Executive, National Deaf Children’s Society.
Paige, our Team Leader, told us what it's like to do the job:
Eight years, though I’m coming up to four years at the National Deaf Children’s Society.
Mostly going out on the street and being ultra-friendly. I get members of the public to talk to me and I am there to inform them of the work and the good that the charity does. We want to get them on board for a monthly contribution. As a team leader, I make sure my team is highly motivated and as pumped as I am.
Meeting the people that we’ve helped, on the streets. I’ve met kids before that have had new cochlear implants, their parents have thanked me. It’s lovely.
Working in crazy weather conditions. When it’s snowing and nobody’s out at work, we’re still out trying to stop people. It’s so tough!
How members of the public can become super inspired with our causes and campaigns, and sign up for that instead of me as a personality.
It’s an amazing working atmosphere. Everyone here is not afraid to get their hands dirty instead of barking orders. Overall, there’s a great team vibe.
