Help and support

Want to ask a question or looking for advice?

Our Helpline are here to help and happy to answer your questions. We have information and guidance on lots of different topics related to deafness.

We can support you with things like:

  • Becoming more independent
  • Making big decisions about your future
  • Understanding your rights in areas including education, employment and benefits.

Need extra help?

Our Helpline can put you in contact with our teams of children and family support officers or appeals and disputes advisors.

Children and family support officers are based across the UK. They can work with you to sort out a particular problem or support you with a big decision or change. They may need to meet you face-to-face to learn about you and your situation. This will help them to advise you and make sure other services know what you need.

Appeals and disputes advisors are experts in special educational needs (SEN) and disability benefits, like Personal Independence Payments (PIP). If you disagree with a decision you’ve received and want to challenge it an appeals and disputes advisor may be able to help.

Our children and family support officers and appeals and disputes advisors mainly work with children and young people up to the age of 19. In some situations they can help young people aged 19-25.

If we can’t provide the help you need our Helpline can tell you about other organisation and services who can. You can also find links to other organisations and services relating to different issues in our Information.
