Technology for deaf children and young people

Technology is an important part of everyday life for deaf children and young people. It can be useful in education, at home or at work. There are products that can help with most things such as waking up in the morning, communicating with others, socialising with friends or travelling around.

The pages below contain information about numerous technology products, including what they do, how they work and how they benefit deaf children and young people. A great starting point are our free booklets on how technology can help, for families of deaf children aged 0-5, 6-18 and 19-25. Technology changes frequently, so check back on these webpages to keep up to date.

How can I try out technology?

You can borrow a range of assistive technology such as alarm clocks, streamers, doorbells and headphones for free through our Technology Test Drive service.

You can opt for a no risk trial before deciding if to purchase Phonak products using our Borrow to Buy scheme. With the support of a professional, you can try Phonak products for 60 days before you decide whether or not to purchase them.
