Whatever your connection to childhood deafness, our supportive community of more than 65,000 parents, young deaf people and professionals is here for you. Membership is free thanks to the ongoing support of our generous donors and fundraisers.

As a member, you'll be able to:

By becoming a member, you'll also be strengthening our voice and influence, and helping us secure a world without barriers for all deaf children.

Parent or carer in the UK

Whatever type of hearing loss your child has, as a member, you'll be welcomed into a supportive community of more than 35,000 families and gain access to our extensive range of resources and services. You’ll also be able to:

  • connect with other families through our online forum, Your Community – it's available for all to read, however, only members can post questions and reply to others in this unique online space
  • attend online and face-to-face events to meet others and develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to best support your child
  • borrow hearing and communication devices to see what works best for your child – from vibrating alarm clocks to radio aids, we have over 100 to choose from!
  • access one-to-one support services that can help you overcome any barriers your child might experience in communication support, education or independence
  • receive our members’ magazine, Families – there are four print issues a year, each full of the latest information, advice from professionals and inspirational real-life stories
  • stay informed with our monthly newsletter containing the latest updates, parent blogs, and resources relevant to your child’s age
  • view member-only content on our website, and enjoy unlimited downloads or print copies of our factsheets and guides.

Parent or carer outside of the UK

Whatever type of hearing loss your child has, as a member, you'll be welcomed into our supportive community and gain access to a range of our online resources and services. You'll also be able to:

  • stay informed with our monthly newsletter containing the latest updates, parent blogs, and resources relevant to your child’s age

Deaf young person

If you’re deaf and aged 16-25, join us for:

  • opportunities to meet other deaf young people and learn new skills at our events
  • news about volunteering roles with us and through external organisations
  • the chance to borrow and try out equipment at home for free through our Technology Test Drive Loan Service
  • a regular e-newsletter with tips and opportunities to campaign for change
  • your free online copy of our members' magazine, Families, with inspirational real-life stories from deaf young people, news, reviews, event listings and loads more.

Professionals

If you’re a professional in the UK or outside of the UK, register as a member and you’ll receive:

  • access to all our resources in our publications area
  • details of our latest workshops and events (UK members only)
  • regular e-newsletters covering topics relevant to education, health and social care professionals – with links to useful resources, videos, webpages and events
  • your free online edition of Families magazine, with advice from other professionals, inspirational stories, news, reviews and more.

Relative of a deaf child or young person in the UK

If you’re a relative of a deaf child or young person, register as a member and you’ll receive:

  • your free online edition of Families magazine, with advice from parents and professionals, inspirational stories, news, reviews, event listings and more
  • the latest resources available to download or order in our publications area
  • regular e-newsletters with tips and real-life stories

As a general member you’ll receive:
